Who psychologists work with
The group the professional states they work with, and what tends to change in each. IAURA displays the declaration and checks registration; preparedness for a specific group is not verifiable by a platform.
Adultos
Adult care is the most common format in clinical practice. You get in touch directly, with no referral, and the terms β fee, frequency, format and confidentiality β are agreed in the first session.
Adolescentes
Care for adolescents raises a question that adult work does not: whoever made contact is not always the person being seen. The opening agreement therefore has to include everyone involved.
Idosos
Care for older adults often brings together themes specific to this stage: accumulated losses, changes in autonomy, retirement, illness, and the review of oneβs own history.
Casais
In couples therapy the focus is the relationship, not either person. Sessions are usually joint, and the professional agrees at the start how confidentiality and any individual sessions work.
Neurodivergentes
Neurodivergence describes ways of cognitive functioning that differ from the expected norm β autism and ADHD among them. It is not a diagnosis or an illness, and many people identify this way without a formal assessment.
LGBTQIA+
There is no therapy specific to sexual orientation or gender identity. What changes is the professional: finding someone who does not treat your existence as the problem to be solved spares you work that should never have been yours.
This text is informative and does not replace professional assessment. IAURA publishes profiles: the psychologist is the one who provides and is responsible for the service. The labels on this page are declared by the professional, not verified by IAURA.
